ROCC Core Values: (Answers WHAT is most important to ROCC)

Our Core Values are considered crucial to our success, and expresses our unique personality as a church. Core Values shape the behavior of an organization.

1. Biblical Authority

2 Timothy 3:16

*We desire to live out the timeless truths of the Divinely inspired scriptures as our ultimate authority.

*We believe that the Bible is a non-fictional account of a loving God spiritually rescuing mankind that has been made in His image.

*We ask ourselves, “Are we spending time reading, memorizing, and applying scripture?”

2. Open Acceptance

Romans 15:7

*We desire to be used by God in His redemptive mission of the world by creating strategic and irresistible environments where people can be met right where they are on their spiritual journeys.

*We believe that Christ extends His inclusive grace and love by focusing on people’s spiritual identity and not their religious or non-religious behavior.

*We ask ourselves, “Who are we investing in and inviting to our ministry environments?”

3. Authentic Community

Acts 2:42-47

*We desire to explore new ways of understanding living Biblically where Divinity meets depravity because life was meant to be lived deeply with one another.

*We believe that lasting life change can happen when people move from large impersonal groups to smaller ones where Bible study, prayer, genuine care, belonging and missional work occurs.

*We ask ourselves, “Are we in an authentic community?”

4. Intentional Apprenticing

2 Timothy 2:2

*We desire that people will serve by using their God given gifts and teaching others to do the same.

*We believe that no one is acting more like Jesus than when they are serving God and others.

*We ask ourselves, “Am I serving while teaching someone what I do?”

5. Outward Focus

Romans 10:14-15

*We desire to go into the world and be participants in the spiritual transformation of people who are apart from God.

*We believe no one is outside of God’s reach.

*We ask ourselves, “How are we engaging our community for Christ?”
