The ROCC YOUTH are moving at Mach II with our hair on fire. Check out what’s happening in our mission to make and grow fully devoted followers of Jesus!

This is a new unified community of Christ Followers from several different churches with the purpose of reaching the youth of Rutherford County for Jesus. We are meeting in a different building than we started off with. It is the building across the street from the old theater in the same shopping mall strip connected to “Fred’s” on Middle Tennessee. We are called in an urgent way to turn this generation around for God! We taking youth from death across the threshold to life in Jesus. Kids are running around everywhere getting things prepared for our kick-off. These are exciting times!

Disciple Now

What is it? This is a two day retreat with the purpose of preparing the hearts and training the minds of our youth who are Christ Followers to invest in their friends who don’t know and follow Jesus.

Who is going to be there?: Obviously everyone that’s cool. Seriously, this event is for both Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers. We have a special treat with internationally known speaker Afshin Ziafat teaching and leading us to live a missional lifestyle this weekend. Afshin is a former Muslim who was radically changed by Jesus. You don’t want to miss this.

Cost? There will be a $30 fee that will go to paying for utilities, the band and the speaker. The $30 will be due on April 6th. You can just show up, but the fee will be higher at $45.

When and How? Starts at 7:00 on April 11th at the new venue. That first session will be until about 9:00-9:30 then the kids will be going to different houses to be together, debrief what they’ve learned and have a little fun. They will wake up the next morning and eat at their host homes. Then they will do several different activities throughout the day and ultimately end up back at the new venue where they started ending around 8:00 in the evening.

Mexico Mission Trip

We are headed to Matamoras, Mexico to share the love of Jesus through back yard Bible clubs, sports evangelism and helping the locals with various physical needs (construction and renovation).

-When? July 10th-July 20th

-Cost? $425.00 first deposit of $100 is due April 1st and I’m not foolin’ ya :O)

(Do not let the higher cost stop you from going. God will provide in ways that you couldn’t even imagine if you take a step to sign up)

-Who? Anyone except for kids younger than incoming 8th graders unless they have a parent or an adult who is assigned to come with them.

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR YOUTH IS SIGNED UP. JUST BECAUSE THEY MADE THE MEETING DOESN’T MEAN THAT THEY ARE SIGNED UP.

Wednesdays:

There is so much to do with so little time. Our youth are renewing their spiritual fervor and training to live life on God’s mission at “In the House” on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.  Join us at Scott and Debi’s house as we are gonig through a video series called Chasing Daylight by Erwin McManus.

Small Groups:

We have two small groups where the youth can grow in their walk with God through reading His word and sharing life together.

Tuesday Night Guys group led by Scott Russell and Mason Crooks meets at John and Kim Mahoney’s house (for High School and Middle School)

Tuesday Night Girls group led by Debi Russell and Christy Crooks meets at Allen and Lonnie Chamberlain’s house.

Theater Outreach:

We have gained free access to the old theater here in the ‘boro.  We are looking to start an outreach there with a Presbyterian, Episcopal, Baptist, Fellowship  Bible, and a Charismatic church (possibly others) this spring.  Be praying about this and keep your ears open for new developments.

Whenever you think of ROCC you know that God’s mission to make new Christ Followers is top priority. ROCCers have been to rural eastern Tennessee, inner city Atlanta, hurricane torn Louisiana, Brazil, Romania, Ethiopia also including local ventures here in Murfreesboro. Now it is time for a new adventure. We are headed to India!
I, Associate Pastor Scott Russell and Daniel Bennett, frequent visitor to ROCC, are headed to to Kerala, India. Daniel and I will be joining a team of Christ Followers from all around the U.S.A. in Atlanta this coming Friday. We will be gone from from November 23rd and we’ll be back December 2nd. Our goal, God willing, is to share the Gospel and plant several churches in the areas that we will be working. We hope to see many people truly come into a new saving relationship with Jesus! We pray that we come back with many God stories that are absolutely astounding!
Please remember to pray for the whole team that is headed to India on mission. With your prayers, you can be a part of this trip. As a matter, of fact your prayers are vital! The importance of prayer is something that we always hear about. But I have a deep discernment about this that I’ve never had before. That is that your prayers are needed more than ever before. Here are few areas to pray for everyday:
Travel safety for the team
Health for the team
God’s provision
Spiritual discernment
Peace
Receptive Hearts of those that will hear the Message of Jesus
(Anything else that God lays on your heart)
