KIDZ ROCC Information

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Kidz ROCC (Birth-5th Grade) is still in need of parents to sign up to serve this summer. We have different weeks that need to be filled for various ages. Please contact Johna and find out what week would be best for you. If you are not a parent, but are willing to help serve to give the regular volunteers a break, we welcome you as well! We have a wonderful summer curriculum planned for our kids!! It is very easy, but fun at the same time!! We think the kids are really going to like it!

PROMOTION SUNDAY - SUNDAY, AUGUST 10, 2008

If you have a child moving up to a new class, we will have our promotional Sunday on August 10. This will be their first Sunday in their new classes.
Here is the breakdown of ages for moving up:
-If you have a child in the 1 & 2’s that is over 2 1/2, they need to move up to the 2 & 3 year old room (even if they are not potty trained).
-If you have a 2 or 3 year old that is 4 or will be four in August, they need to move up to the 4 & 5 year old class. If they turn 4 before the end of the year, parent can move them up when they have their birthday.
- If you have a child that will be in Pre K, they need to stay back in the 4 & 5 year old room
- If your child is starting Kindergarten, they will move up to our K-5th grade program
- Kids that are going into 1st-5th grade will just move up to the next class in the Kidz ROCC room.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Johna Green at johna@therocc.com.

Kidz ROCC Mission Project UPDATE

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Well…in order for K-ROCC to sponsor a Compassion child for the whole year, we needed $384.00.  I am VERY HAPPY to say that we made it!!!!  We needed $142.00 this past Sunday (Dec 30) and by the end of the day, we had made our goal!!  THANK YOU for your support.  Our kids were so excited to give their money towards this opportunity.  Parents…we are so glad that you let your children participate.  I will keep you updated on the child we sponsor.  K-ROCC will be sending the child letters regularly and we will keep you updated on how the child is doing throughout the year.  After this year is over, children’s ministry will continue to sponsor this child.  Thanks again for a successful mission project!  YEA GOD!!!!

K-ROCC GOD TIME PARTY NOVEMBER 11TH!

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

It is time for K-ROCC (K-5th grade) to have their God Time party again!! We are SO EXCITED to celebrate your children for bringing back their god times and learning their verses and virtues for the past 3 months!! Due to the changes going on we had to postpone it to Nov 11th. Make sure your children bring all their tickets they have earned this weekend!! They will get the opportunity to recieve more tickets at the party if they can tell us the 3 virtues and their meanings and the 3 verses from the past 3 months (Aug-Oct). To help them review and remember them by Sunday, I am posting them on here for you…

August Virtue: Trust- Putting your confidence in someone you can depend on
August Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

September Virtue: Initiative- Seeing what needs to be done and doing it.
September Verse: “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:4)

October Virtue: Respect-Responding with words and actions that show others they are important
October Verse: “Show proper respect to everyone.” (1 Peter 2:17)

We try to encourage K-ROCC to learn their virtues and verses every month, but it is important for parents to really take the time to review their refrigerator doors and god time cards every week. Our goal is minister and love these kids as much as we can and give parents the tools they need to keep the ministering going at home too. We love ROCC!!
